Kelly Madison will answer questions about the new healthcare initiatives and how they will affect you, with an emphasis towards small business owners.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2014, individuals and employees of small businesses will have access to insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) health insurance exchanges (Exchanges), which are also known as Health Insurance Marketplaces. Open enrollment under the Exchanges will begin on Oct. 1, 2013, for a January 1, 2014 effective date.
The ACA requires ALL employers to provide new hires and current employees with a written notice about ACA’s Exchanges.
Who is eligible to purchase coverage through the exchange? Small Employers? Large Employers? Individuals and their families?
How does an individual or an employer apply for coverage through the exchange?
Who will qualify for a subsidy?
Which employers will qualify for tax credits if they purchase health insurance?
Which employers are required to provide health insurance to their employees?
What about the individual mandate – what are the penalties or consequences of not having health insurance to the individual and their families? What are the penalties or tax consequences?
This workshop will focus on the new health insurance exchanges as well as other key aspects of the ACA that are important to businesses providing health insurance, or interested in providing health insurance to their employees.
