6pm - The Art of Making Places Public

Event Description:
Jack Mackie is a well- known public artist engaged in the planning, design, and construction of civic spaces and structures.

More Info:

His experience ranges from co-authoring public art plans for communities and organizations like Scottsdale, AZ; Broward County, FL; Dallas Area Rapid Transit; and the Miami and San Jose airports, serving on design teams for numerous municipal and parks projects, to chairing several Seattle arts-related commissions.  Mackie is also an accomplished artist, having been commissioned to create artwork for a variety of public spaces.  In addition to delivering this lecture, Mackie will be spending time with various local officials and city personnel to discuss public art ideas for this community.
